Nov 2013 Raymond Chan gives Red Deer Wine’s Sauvignon Blanc 4 Stars in his latest on-line review.
From his review:
“Bright, even straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is fresh with a fine core of gooseberry and grassy fruit aromas, tightly bound with nuances of fresh herbs, limes and minerals emerging in the glass. Dry and elegantly proportioned, fine and tight flavours of gooseberries, herbs and minerals show with good intensity and drive, the palate showing some alcohol with the linearity. Fresh, bright and lacy acidity brings liveliness to the mouthfeel, and along with refined textures, carry the flavours of sweet gooseberry fruit to a crisp and zesty finish. This is a fine-textured and tightly bound, crisp Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and minerally flavours. Match with seafood over the next 2+ years. Fruit hand-picked and WBP, stainless-steel fermented to 13.64% alc. and 3.4 g/L rs, the wine spending 6 months on lees. 17.5/20 Nov 2013 RRP $17.00”
